At Active Care Services, we are excited to introduce our Integrated Community Supports (ICS) services, specially designed to support adults who choose to live and receive services in a supported apartment setting.
What Is ICS?
Integrated Community Supports is a service we offer to fill identified service gaps and support people who want to experience the comfort of living in a supported apartment setting. An ICS setting is a multi-family housing building, like an apartment building, in which we, as the provider, have direct or indirect control over the living unit. This control may come in owning, operating, or leasing the living units within the setting.
We designed our ICS services to promote independent living and fill the identified gaps in living settings. With this service, we aim to provide a setting similar to a supported apartment for adults aged 18 and above.
Who Is Eligible for ICS?
The amount and type of support that a person receives in an ICS setting depends on the person-centered support plan, which is developed by the case manager to meet the person’s specific assessed areas of need. The services under ICS can be delivered up to 24 hours per day in the person’s living unit or the community. However, it’s important to know that if a person receives ICS, they cannot receive certain other waiver services, including 24-hour emergency assistance, caregiver living expenses, community residential services, customized living, family residential services, individualized home support, night supervision services, and respite.
What Are the Covered Services of ICS?
As for where ICS can be provided, it’s typically offered in a multi-family housing building of three or more units. The provider either owns, operates, or leases the living unit, or has a direct or indirect financial interest in the property or housing, including a financial relationship with the property owner.
What Are the Non-covered Services of ICS?
We understand that transitions can be a challenging time, which is why we want to clarify that if a person is currently receiving customized living services, they are not required to transition to ICS unless the setting transitions to an ICS setting. In such cases, a person must either transition to ICS or move to an assisted living setting to continue receiving customized living services.
At Active Care Services, our goal is to make sure our clients feel supported, comfortable, and independent. With our ICS services, we hope to provide an environment that nurtures growth, independence, and a sense of community. We are here to help every step of the way and look forward to supporting our clients on their journey to independent living.
